A speech given by President Bush today at Monticello was interrupted by protestors.
As he is interrupted, Bush ad-libs "We believe in free speech in the United States of America."
To me, this comes off as sarcastic. You know he really just wants them to sit down and shut up.
What brave people and what a good day to exercise free speech.

Yes, free speech as you are escorted out of his presence. What a lying war criminal. How dare he soil Monticello. Good to see some people standing up over the sheep.
-
Good to see such people continue to speak without fear because they have nothing to fear for speaking their minds.
Unappreciative is what they are showing and disrespect. -
War criminals don't deserve respect. They deserve impeachment.
-
"dissent is the highest form of patriotism" thomas jefferson
god bless those patriots -
GWB flaunts free speech as the protesters get hauled away. What better threat to new US citizens could there be without a gun drawn?
-
Speech is free, as long as it's conducted in free speech zones, far far away from anyone who should hear it....
-
I love how he can state people have free speech and have them escorted out because they are causing a disturbance and ruining other people's time....and people find him in the wrong. hahahaha..
Sad state of affairs when justice isn't even seen in what was done, blindness by one's hate is apparent. -
So is one's ignorance.
-
awesome
-
These protesters emit brave patriotism, and restore my faith in people who can no longer sit and watch our country fall.
Thanks, for speaking for the rest of us. -
They are no more brave than someone with standing there yelling.
-
if i could be there id do the same thing

'All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.'
Thomas Jefferson -
I hope more people speak thier minds. These people did an excellent job of getting in the audience and past the gestapo guards undetected. We need them to teach others thier techniques.
-
do these people have jobs or is that their job?
God bless america
god bless big oil -
Keep protesting!
-
couldnt we express our discontent in a less "crazy lady yelling at a crowd" sort of way?

Thats awesome! Good for them. But free speech? If that was the case he would've talked to them...come to some type of resolution... been a real leader to ALL the people right??!!!!
-
Wonderful, there is a spark of fight left. May it be fanned into flames and become a firestorm. Bless those patriots.
-
Any man of character and principle who really respected freedom of speech would have engaged those speaking instead of having them carted away... of course, Bush can't do that because he knows they're right.
The emperor has no clothes. -
Is this free speech also , picture was taken at a rally after bush's second presidential victory -
Good for them. Bush is a spoiled puppet imbecile who lies, cheats, steals, defiles the constitution and got to where he is with the help of daddy and the Bin Ladens. You have to be a complete moron or a fellow sociopath to think that fascist deserves any respect. What has he done to help this country???
-
So if i go to an obama rally call him names and interrupt his speech , i wouldnt be wisked away
-
But what the video doesn't show is what happened to these people after the secret service guys dragged them away. They were probably put in a small dark room and some big brawny guy beat the hell out of them. Then cuffed them and they probably had a jail setence waiting for them. Bush is not a kind old fatherly type of person. He takes that kind of stuff personal. So he will want to get even with those people, and he has the power to do it in a big way.
-
How ironic that Bush says, "We believe in free speech in America" and here these select few liberals go practicing their rights to do what else?... speak! Gotta love those who still believe in free speech... and practice it.

J Jammer wants us to be good little conservative fascist and join the Socialist Workers Party (NAZI) I mean the neo cons I mean the Republicans and shut up...He supports anything conservative to start arguments.
Thats alright I am a superhero too. -
Oh man that was disturbing, "we believe in free speech in the USA", followed by security removing all the protesters as quickly as possible. This isn't my country, California is.

The only way this would have been a perfect day would have been if an assassin attendance, and rather than yelling and civil disobedience would interrupted this jackass with a friendly kiss lol.
As we get closer to the elections this crook bush should be hearing more shouting and less speech making publicly. Hell in October the bastard should stay in Crawford and get used to being vandalized. -
I AGREE ABSOLUTELY with you gemenilaidback about what you said about J Jammer!!! I have read some posts of his on different issues and he is a neo con and it's people like him who just blindly follow without critically looking and questioning the status quo. The best way I can describe people with his mental thinking ability is to compare him with a leming. Oh, and J Jammer, if you read this and don't know what a leming is then here's a hint for you. It's a computer game about brainless creatures. Check it out, you'll feel right at home!
-
I cant believe that no one has made an assassination attempt on him yet!! I mean i heard people saying assassinate obama and whatever, but not one attempt has been made or even tried on Bush! The accusations of his wrong doings are far worse than any other assasination attempt on other presidents!! What the hell? Where's the revolutionaries when you need 'em?
-
Ok.....i hate bush BUT. I think this was really inappropriate....these people were getting their citizenship today and being initiated into this country, and in a way the protesters have put a stain on the memory these people will have. I am all for free speech, but i think there are other times bush speaks that things like this would be more appropriate.

"There ought to be limits to freedom."
George W. Bush
"Goddamn the king!"
Sam Adams, HBO's 'John Adams.'
And to the neocon here who compared this to an Obama rally, it happens in general at political rallies (there will be first amendment zones at both conventions this year) and it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Making this about your political biases over the overriding principle only shows you have no clue. -
Guys it is inappropriate to talk about assassination of anyone. It is probably against the law. I hate Bush but there needs be a firm line drawn on any talk of assassination of anyone. We are supposed to be civilized.
