Yea Big and Kid Static's first music video got 250,000 hits in 2 days. Along with the hits came some nasty comments about the mixed race duo. In this pod, vc2 producer Noah Banks hears from the duo about the offensive comments and their decision to delete said comments and learns more from Northwestern University Professor Clark Caywood about the rise in comment abuse due to internet anonymity.

i saw this on tv last night and it REALLY made me mad!!!
all the people who dissed them are just mad because that one guy is black!!!
    that's B.S.!!!!
why can't this already screwed-up country just put racial hate and prejudiceness in the past???
    MOVE ON!!!

Ahh.. the typically backward lot who posted the -ve comments probably just discovered YouTube in the last six months... ;-) "Don't feed the trolls" has always been one of the net's most important mantras. Self policing rocks, but dealing with the cretins is annoying sometimes. Great song/video.

Nice. this is one of those videos that holds a lot more relevancy than most, yet is over looked because of it's subject. awesome job.

You know, I don't think racism will ever be gone sadly, yeah, there may be reason, but it all is from the past. We need to live in the present, and not hold grudges for hundreds of years. I can only wonder what the world will be like in 300 years from now...

racism starts at home. if kids are being raised knowing nothing but racism, it is much harder (maybe impossible) to ever stop it. but ze said it, "don't feed the trolls".

it is so easy to sit behind a keyboard and type obscenities, it's like who we are when the lights are off, it's who ever we want "us" to be

me & my girlfriend used to live in andersonville & we definitely noticed some cats on clark street getting crazy horizontal on light polls, i think we said what's up to them a couple times, but i don't ever remember taking the time to actually build with them.
now i wish i had because these guys seem really cool. their music sounds pretty dope & i definitely respect them standing up for themselves & what's right.

the anonymity of the internet is like alcohol & hard drugs...a truth serum that gives people enough comfort to take off their masks.
