You try to leave you're going to die....or probably die afterwards since if you leave they'll find out why you left and kill you then.

He was in a total lose/lose situation and for that I feel sorry for him.

I'm not surprised. Alot of those animals in gangs will kill a person for less. Wear the wrong color and you're getting shot up on your porch. Stare at someone to long, you get stabbed up going to your car. Driving while black......that will get you a boot party from the nazi's. A couple years back there was a kid in Reading Pennsylvania who got shot 3 times in the head because he drank some SoCo that wasn't offered to him.

Meh, as long gang members are killing other gang members, I say let 'em have at it. Once they cross the line and get outside known gang affiliated members, THEN execute them. Problem solved, the trash takes out the trash and when they get off task law abiding citizens take out that trash. It's win-win!

I feel bad that some one was murder for something that he could not help; he knew what a gang was, he knew what he was.

Ummm.... bullshit. I know some bloods. In multiple cities. I actually know a lot of gang members because of A) the neighborhood in which I live B) my job C) my school D) my family E) I live in the real world and F) an art project I did because of all of the aforementioned and I am pretty sure there was a TON more stuff going on than what the big tough heroic policemen are telling you. Most gang members don't care what kind of tail you're hitting as long as if you're the same sex and they're not into it- its not theirs. So I call shenanigans on this.
I'd also like to say to all you sheltered folk- go out and truly meet and talk to a gang member. They don't always look like you would imagine them, and don't always act like you would expect. Besides, every single gang member I know owns more than one gun. They would have shot the guy were it because he was gay. Not stabbed and stomped him to death.

Regardless of what the causes truly were though, this is still horrible and my condolences to the boy's family and friends.

The whole gang scene is for the weakest of the weak. They do everything they possibly can to seem tough but deep down these people are just hollow shells of souls. It takes no courage to shoot or stab someone. What does takes courage is to get up everyday and work towards your short term and long term goals. They blame society but thats a cop out.They have schools and liberarys to learn anything and everything they want to accomplish on societys legal path. I say one infraction, even a misdemeanor and they go to jail for 20 - get busted again and its the death penalty. Clean up the country starting with these COMPLETE LOSERS first.

I would like to feel sorry for the guy, however, given what he could have possibly been involved in at some point of time whilst a member of that gang... I find it hard to.

I live in brooklyn in an area where gangs are prevelant and it just baffles my mind to think about all that. I read this book called "hiding in hip hop" and it was all about black men on the Down Low and about that whole sub culture. It's just so scary to think about having to hide who you really are and deny it even to yourself just because you know you could be killed or disowned completely.
