Chinese Friends - entertaining look at our Olympic hosts
Entertaining & highly topical music video - the 1st to draw together multiple threads around the Olympics and Chinese foreign policy. Non-partisan and thought-provoking.
The video tells a story about the Olympic torch, asking why it never made it to places like Zimbabwe and Sudan, even though the Chinese government are big friends with the regimes in those countries. The video contrasts some of the hardships experienced with pictures of the Chinese premier shaking hands with various leaders. Towards the end of the video, the compromises our own leaders have had to make are highlighted, making the point there are no easy answers for us here.
'Chinese Friends' has already been featured on SW Radio Africa, and received favourable write-ups on Sokwanele, a prominent Zimbabwean human rights blog. Entertaining & highly topical music video - the 1st to draw together multiple threads around the Olympics and Chinese foreign pol... more -

What You Didn't See At The Ozone Awards Part 1
Before we get into another edition of “What You Didn’t See…,” the Bad Guys have a question to ask all of our readers.
Have you ever been to a zoo filled with humans and completely devoid of cages? How about a three ring circus of niggatry? If, for some reason, you say yes. Then you will be called a liar because the greatest show on earth was called the 2008 Ozone Awards/TJs DJs Conference in Houston Texas the weekend before last, and “the shit was bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S)!” Now before you say that the term “zoo” means something bad, let me explain what a zoo is. A zoo can be fun as you take a look at animals that you probably wouldn’t see anywhere else do uncivilized things. Some of these animals don’t function well with others while some can be a complete blast to be around. There are also a few animals that can be quite dangerous when wandering amongst the common folk. But there’s some others that you just want to pet and feed.

Nas appears on Tavis Smiley Show
Though Nas’ Untitled album came out over a month ago, it has still been a topic of discussion that goes beyond music. Speaking on Tavis Smiley’s PBS show, Nas explained his intentions with the album, as well as an American media that could be flipped upside down.
Knowing that his title was controversial from the get go, Nas was adamant about the need to push something that he believed in, much like legendary artists before his time. “It's important to roll the dice. Anything in life, it's important to roll the dice. You've got to challenge yourself all the time…The artists I used to love took chances, from Marvin to John Lennon to even Hendrix.” Nas continued, “When you first get in the music business you're excited to be there, [and] you want to make records that everybody's loving. But after you got years in the game, you want to give people the real side of you, show people some character, and that's the stage I'm at right now.”

Do Cam'ron and Juelz Santana Have Beef?
The Dipset isn't anywhere near as unified as they once were. After a slew of beefs seemingly broke the camp up, Cam'ron claimed he sold Juelz Santana's contract to Def Jam for a large sum of money. Now, after a long time between albums, Juelz is opening up about the beef, the contract, the new deal and more.
"I was upset about the part of me being 'sold for $2 million,'" he told MTV recently. "At times like this, nobody is trying to 'sell' me. I could have come out and said, 'Oh, yeah, Cam got bought out.' But I didn't go that route. They just gotta watch me move. We gonna make it hot."

Dave Matthews Band saxophonist dies
LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday from complications stemming from injuries he sustained in an ATV accident, the band's publicist said.
Moore, 47, died "unexpectedly" at a hospital, publicist Ambrosia Healy said in a statement.
Moore was taken to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, and had been rehabilitating at his L.A. home after the June 30 accident at his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Dave Matthews Band was formed in Charlottesville in 1991 by Matthews, drummer Carter Beauford and Moore, an established saxophonist in the local music scene. Their first album, "Remember Two Things," was released in 1993 and featured what would become the band's trademark mixture of jazz, rock and world-music stylings.
"Jazz is probably my main influence, but at this stage I don't really consider myself a jazz musician," Moore is quoted as saying on the band's Web site. "I have plenty of space to improvise, to try new ideas."
The band's follow-up record, "Under the Table and Dreaming," has been certified quadruple-platinum, selling over 4 million copies.
The group was scheduled to play Tuesday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and was planning to go on with the show, according to the statement. Jeff Coffin, saxophonist for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, has been sitting in for Moore since Moore's accident. *disclaimer* this is a totally fan-made production

Song: Stay With You
Artist: Goo Goo Dolls
Album: Let love In
Scenes: Final Fantasy VIII, X, Dirge of Ceberus

Dedicated to Anthony, happy birthday and welcome back =D
------------
Again, so sorry for the audio and the vid quality, I really had no choice T.T if I didn't convert the amv 2 times, I will not be able to upload it to youtube.
This time ive been very busy with my studying, so I cannot take much time for making amv's even there are still tons of songs in my waiting-list lol so I just make amv when it is for birthdays or special times only, until I can get the break time in this course.
This one is for Anthony -- a very special friend of mine. He is now very busy with his business and cannot see this vid now but I hope when he gets back, he will enjoy it =) anyway I put all of my heart in doing it
Some people asked me if I would pair unsual couples such as Tifa and Squall, Aerith and Vincent, etc. and my answer is no. I played the game and I myself respect the whole story as well as I respect the musicians, so no unusual pairings, no special effects for the tracks, etc. its just like that.
So yea, here we have Squall/Rinoa, Vincent Valentine/ Lucrecia, Tidus/ Yuna. This is the first time ive tried editing more than usual, so yea, you may see that there are a lot of cut scenes together and even a bit colour effect.
Hope you enjoy this amv thanks for watching ^^

Goo Goo Dolls Stay With You Lyrics
Songwriters: Rzeznik, John; Ballard, Glen;
These streets
Turn me inside out
Everything shines
But leaves me empty still
And I'll, burn this lonely house down
If you run with me
If you run with me
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you
Fooled by my own desires
I twist my fate
Just to feel you
But you, turn me toward the light
And you're one with me
Will you run with me?
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you
Now come in from this storm
and I taste you sweet and warm
Take what you need
Take what you need
From me
Wake up this world
Wake up tonight
And run to me
Run to me now
I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you **Note: this is just the audio demo, so it just has the first 3mins of the song, ... more -
TunesDay: Project Phoenix launches
The anticipation is finally over: Project Phoenix, the new CD from Fiction 8, is now out. And was it ever worth the wait.
The new disc represents a significant step forward for the band. Most notably, bassist Mardi Salazar has assumed a much greater role in the creative process, writing and singing about half the tracks on the album. Her contributions afford Project Phoenix a rich balance, both tonally and lyrically. Mike’s angst and cynicism are still evident, but are tempered by Mardi’s softer, more haunting approach.
